... Does anyone know where I can get a set of visors in brown/tan with the center attachment….the one the visors clip onto when in the stowed position?
Or did Ford have a way of stowing them without a center clip?
Mine does not have any way to clip them, they keep hanging down.
I have done the hours and hours of searching on the net.... cannot find anything.
Maybe there was an option on some year that was trick looking, like over head console or ...or ...???
I have the same problem with my sunvisors too.
It looks to me like you can use the sunvisors from a mid 80's T-Bird or Cougar they are longer and look like they would fit ok, they also use the center clip attachment.
LMCtruck.com They usually have a lot of stuff like that, but you have to order the magazine/catalog whatever it's called. I'll look at mine tomorow and see if I can help you out. But Tim.. don't forget to visit our sponsors... lol
I looked in my LMC and they tell you to use your original brackets. And they want $70 for just the visor! That's rediculous. So all you're missing is the little brackets that hold the visor in place where you can swivel it, or unhook it and take it over to the side?
That is what it is about folks. These days are so pressure filled than when I grew up (I'm going on 52) so any help I give makes me happy. It's the small things in life that count, just the replys made my day!
Another tip for sagging/ loose visors, after you have tried switching them.
Remove visor units (as above)
notice the little tensioner spring at the end? It has either lost some spring, or the washer that tensions it has wallowed out a bit. I compressed the spring with needle nosed vice grips, and then squeezed a lock washer that I had spread open under the spring. This effectively makes the spring longer or preloads it. That tensioned mine enought that they dont sag any more, and they hold their place without swinging around.
