I have heard there have been some strikes launched against "T-Camps" incountry. That radar sites have been downed, and at least one power plant taken offline.
Here we go, people. We need to be as alert as possible, even at home, and even non-military citizens.
I wish I could remember some pithy quote by Churchill or somebody, but all that comes to mind is the statement:
"Keep your head on a swivel"
Whatever comes, we are Americans, all of us. Let's keep our legacy alive and well.
UbL says America will not know peace. I'm sure he's going to hit us again as soon as possible here at home.

Well...looks like you two beat me. I was about to post the same thing. Yep..US and British forces have starting bombing in Afg. I'm just concerned about what OBL said in reguards to "we will know no peace as long as there are Islams" I hope he doesn't attack the US again. I wouldnt' put it past him thought. My thoughts and prayers definately go out to the people on the military.

Please don't pull out in front of me! The last thing I want to do is play identify the pieces with you or your car.
Yes it begins, and yes, we (the world), have to be aware of what is going on around us. This is not something new to the United States, we have been subject to attack before, not only from "foreign" terrorist, but our own home grown terrorist.
It is time to end the threat posed by all terrorist activities, by what ever means it takes.
Yes "Big Brother" may start to look over your shoulder every once-in-awhile, yes you may be searched before going on a plane or to a football game, and yes it will cost you some personal freedoms. Hopefully it will keep us alive.

LAST EDITED ON 07-Oct-01 AT 11:57 PM (EST)[p]At Pearl harbor, we were attacked on American soil.
IN BOSTON, we were challenged for our Independence.
In 2001, the entire world is now called to defend itself from the misguided nihilists who having more money than sense have decided to create this mayhem.
I myself cannot stand aside and simply watch it come to be.
I am sure there are many of the same mind.
And so the question becomes -
What can we do?
In responce to the notion that more strikes may be intended for the US, I put this forward:
Prepare as you would for a hurricane.
Lay in extra supplies, particularly canned and dry goods. Get some 5 gallon jugs for water.
Keep fuel in your cars, and have a generator handy.
Be prepared to camp out, and live off the land.
DO NOT NEGLECT medical essentials.
And stock up on bullets/cartridges.
I'm quite sure all of this sounds totally paranoid, in fact it sounds like it to me. But it is far better to have these things and not need them, then need them desperately and not HAVE them.
"Combat gives rise to the element of danger in which all military activety must move and be maintained like birds in air and fish in water. The effects of danger, however, produce an emotional reaction, either as a matter of immediate instinct, or conciously. The former results in an effort to avoid the danger, or, where that is not possible, in fear and anxiety. Where these affects do not arise, it is because instinct has been outweighed by courage. But courage is by no means a conscious act; like fear, it is an emotion. Fear is concerned with physical, and courage with moral survival. Courage is the nobler instinct, and as such cannot be treated as an inanimate instrument that functions simply as prescribed. So courage is not simply a counterweight to danger, to be used for neutralising it's effects: it is a quality on it's own."
