I was wondering if the choke is already in the open positon when you put fuel into the carb? And if so does it close when you try to start it? Also have you tried starting it in the neutral position?
A choke that doesn't open would sure keep it from starting.
I've tried all except fresh gas from a can. I've timed it about 4 times. I've open the choke all the way too. It'll kinda hit and almost start but won't quite start. I think I'll remove the EGR and replace it with a flat plate and check every hose for vacuum leaks. If you really pump the gas when cranking it'll hit. There's a strong stream coming from the carb jet. I wish it was a manual tranny, I'd drag it all over the farm and get it to start!!
have you looked at the engine wiring harness? You mave have either a blown fusible link, or no links in the harness and a shorted out harness. I had a similar prob. with my 86 302 and it turned out to be the harness was bad. And no saveing it since the original owner cut all the links out of the harness. I found that problem after doing weeks of diagnosis and changing parts such as distributor, computer, ignition and module. and so on. I think you should consider this as a possibilty. And just so you know I was getting spark, fuel, and air.
dont want to kill anyones dreams, but, fuel, intake, compression, spark, power, exhaust.anything else will be what you have. timing isnt just distributor.05 model year cars still work on the same principal. take your time, and check everything. if you have a new module, and all the other stuff you threw at it, if all the stuff i mentioned should get it started.(plugs+watery gas excluded)
literally having the EXACT same problem with my truck right now
and she's driving me insane
I'm about to drop her into neutral and roll her off a cliff...
did you figure out the solution?
