Home depot and Lowes have small sheets of metal in the hardware isle. 18 guage is what the cab is stamped from.
I use pieces trimmed from spare doors or whatever i have laying around.
The piece will need to be metal worked as it is a compound curve area. ballpien does a good job on this.

Green Sales in Cincinnati, OH...... 1-800-543-4959, call them with part # B7QH9080A. It cost me $7, plus $5 shipping....... genuine Ford NOS part, even! It is black rubber, that may not be some folks' cup of tea. I got this number from another of our fellow members (unfortunately, I cannot remember who, but "thanks"!!!!!) TomD
