rattling under accelaration.
i have noticed this for a few months now and it is now getting so frequent that i am getting concerned. my engine will rattle under acc. mostly in higher gears. it used to do it only when it was hot and now does it sometimes when it is cold, but hardly ever. it sounds like a really bad ping or something. if i dont let up on the acc. it starts to sound almost like a diesel after a few seconds. what is this, and how can i fix it? thanks for the help. this is on the vehicle listed in my profile.

i use 87 octane at texaco or shell only. plugs have about 30000 miles on them and the fuel filter is about to be replaced. i tried to clean maf but gave up cause i couldnt figure out how. while we are on the subject, can anyone provide instructions on how to clean the maf?
