off roading a 2 wheel drive?

I have a 67-72 f100 that was given to me for parts. It's missing the tranny, all glass, the doors and hood. I have the 360 that came with the truck but it needs to be rebuilt. Condition of motor unknown. Here was my plan. I want to put the 6" high lift springs on it in the front. then go with a 4" lift in rear. I was thinking of getting rid of the 360 and going with a run of the mill 302/351. The truck was set up for a floor shift manual. So maybe a T5 or T56? Has anyone ever done this to their truck? I don't have title yet so the truck is not street legal. Strictly off road. I live by some killer sand dunes. Any ideas or suggestions from people who have done this?

You could take the time and build it into one of those Pre-Runners. Just an Idea

Thats kind of what I was leaning towards. I want the front to be high enough and with good enough suspension to handle to jumps. The back doesn't have to be lifted high just enough to clear like a 35" or 37". Does the front coils from a 4x4 fit the 4x2 from 67-72? Anyone ever build a pre-runner 67-72?

Hey there are some 4X4 parts on e-bay that you might be able to use. Drag Link, Center Link, Trac Bar and Radius Arm Brackets.
