E350 engine-mpg question
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question. I have a 90 E350 that used to be a short bus. I need a newer truck and thought of an E350 with the enclosed utility body. I carry about 3000# of equipment all the time and tow a trailer that is about 7000# most of the time. I was looking for a diesel but am afraid of the 6.0 and the new trans problems. I can't seem to find a good used 7.3, so I was thinking of a 5.4. Does anybody know what kind of gas milage I would get? I drive about 120 - 150 miles a day so fuel economy is important. The truck I have now is a diesel and I get about 10 while loaded and towing, and about 14 without the trailer. My rear ratio now is 3.55. I would stay with something like that if I could. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

My 5.4 Ext 1 ton 3.50 gears, gets 10-12 in the city unloaded, 15 HWY unloaded, you'll wish you had bought a diesel and hate your purchase. Repairs and maintenance are a pain on the newer vans and engines, plugs are situated to where you almost need an engineering degree to change them, cost $300 to have it done.
