I removed and cleaned the IAC valve. Brought idle up a few rpms, but didn't fix the problem. Took it to a reliable shop. Asked them to replace the Throttle position sensor. They checked it and said it was OK. They said the IAC was bad, and replaced it. They checked for vacuum leaks, and pulled the codes. They cleared the codes and drove it around. Could not find the problem. Told me to try different gas.
I disconnected the battery overnight to clear the computer. Then drove it about 50 miles. It idled fine for two days. Now the problem is back. It idles OK cold, but as soon as it warms up, it goes into a rough idle. Running out of ideas. No new codes generated. Any ideas. It must be a sensor, but which one?
Didn't know you could clean the cats. I thought they could only be replaced. How come it idles OK when cold. Why did it idle OK for two days after I cleared the computer?
I can still drive 70 or 80 on the freeway, although the acceleration is a little sluggish. Could I do 70 if the cats were clogged?
