brake control
i was in the junkyard and i noticed a factory looking brake controller installed in a mid 70's ford f-250 it looked to be hydraulic is this possible and is it worth using it in my truck

If it had a spring and movable clip (rheostat) in the front L/H wheel well and was plumbed into the brake system, that was state-of-the-art back then, but can't come close to today's controllers such as the Prodigy or BrakeSmart.

There should be a lot of the old style controls out there. The one I had on my 79 F250 looked just like the ones out there now, it had a hydraulic line running to a tee at the master cylinder, all the controls were in the cab in the controller and it worked just as good as the Brakesmart. No added frills or lights just good solid stooping. The first time sense I had that style of control that I have been happy with my brake operation is when I went to the Brakesmart control. I can't remember what year they went to the rear anti lock systems so that style of could no longer be used, I believe that is was in the mid 80s.
