I have a 76 f100 w/ a 302 2v EGR. Recently I've noticed if i'm going down the road and punch the gas, even just to pass or take off from a light, it sort of misses or stutters until i let off and gradually give it gas. It idles fine. Also if i'm really light on the gas, its fine (but everyone passes me angrily). I've got all new plugs, wires, coil, and i've cleaned up the contacts on the cap and rotor, but that didnt help. I checked the vacuum to the vacuum advance and it feels strong, and the i've checked the vacuum advance itself and it works. I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
the other day i was talking to my dad about this problem and he said since it was a 3 speed that it would "nose-dive" with a bad accel. pump. he said try replacing the vac. advance and what do ya know, he was right. no problem taking off hard, she'll even smoke the tires again! thanks for all the advice. I still have to replace vac. lines... they're worn out.
