I have a 1990 351W that I am trying to run in a 1995 F-150. I have also got a 94/95 302 Mass Air Flow harness wired to this 90 351. Will this 302 Mass Air Harness run this motor? Will a 1995 302 Mass air computer run this motor? Will I have to run this motor on speed density? Please through me some direction.
My 351W powered crewcab is running mass air at the moment, using the A9P computer. Required some "adjustment" using purchased software. It will not work if you just wire it up and pray, you have to adjust the tables in t he computer.
The truck mass air computer would probably be a better match to the truck 351. The harness will be fine, as should the computer that matches the harness. It might take some tuning as frederic said, but it's worth a shot to set it up and go.
I set it up on the 351W really just to play with it... and learn how some of the parameters react to changes I make.
This way, when I rip the 351W and put in the 500cid twin turbo stroker, I won't be so clueless like I am now. I game from the GM EFI hacking world. While I've always owed Fords, most of them ended up with GM EFI at some point (or electromotive)
Is the A9P the best base computer for this operation? I have a similar A9L computer right now that I recieved with my Mass Air Kit from Summit. I was going to try to get a 95 302 Truck computer though? Is that a waste of time? What would have to be adjusted on the computer? One more question (I am full of them) What is a good program for reprogramming these computers?
