87' f150 - wheel question

Hey all,

Here's the deal... I own an 87' F150 2wd & a buddy of mine is wanting to sell his AR rims off his 98' E150.

My local ford dealer says 87' F150 bolt spacing is 5 X 5.5 & 98' E150 is 5 X 135mm. HOWEVER, rep @ tirerack.com says 98' E150 is 5 X 5.5 !

So, who's right? Did the dealer give me info possibly for a Heavy Duty van?

Thanks,
Dale

You can't use those wheels. The 135 is actually 5.32". In addition, the later models use hub centric wheels (center on the hub) with flat lug nuts (no taper). Your style uses lug centric wheels (center on the lug nuts), with tapered lug nuts.

Sorry

I think the dealer is full of crap, those wheels should be 5x5.5. Since it's your buddy who's selling them, how hard would it be just to pull one and see if it fits, anyway?

I see I screwed up...you are talking van. Go to the discount tire site, or tire rack etc, type in the vehicle and ask for wheels, they will show you the lug spacing.

The pickups are different, I don't know when they changed the van.

I don't think they've changed lug spacing on the E150s yet, and probably won't until they replace that chassis. You can find OEM wheels from late model (2004) E150s on eBay as I write - 16x7s with a 5x5.5 lug pattern.
