Never checked mpg on any truck I`ve owned. With the price of gas ,I thought I`d see what was up.13.5 mpg for my 04 FX4 Screw.Lots of bumper to bumper traffic, but mostly 60+mph crusing.I`ll take it.I wish someone knew how much was left after the low fuel light went on.I did about 35 miles after,so it may have had even better mileage.
13.5 is exactly what my wife's Screw is getting too. It's a 5.4L with 3.73 and 18" wheels. We took it on a weekend trip and did 400 miles of highway driving at about 65 to 70 mph and it managed to get a little over 15 for that trip.
But for just day to day mixed driving it's between13 and 14 mpg. I hoped for maybe 1 or 2 mpg better but she likes the truck alot so I won't complain.
Right now I'm getting 15.9MPG city (rural type drive). I'm amazed that my new Magnaflow muffler and Airaid intake tube would make such a difference yet also give me more HP???
Just rechecked my gozindas with the calculator.Turns out to be 14.9mpg.I like when mistakes turn out in my favor.30gal tank-435miles=14.9.I think I could have gone more miles but got chicken.....
I have 04 F150 4X4, 5.4L, Auto, 3.55 drive 70 miles to work each way and have got up to 16.7 mpg. Also have pushed 35 miles after low fuel and figured it had 0.7 gal left.

Jim.....
Did you check to see how many gallons it took to refill the tank, and then calculate the mpg?
Yea, that is the best way there is to do it. It'll give you the most accurate MPG readings. Speaking of calculating MPG, I need to go top off my tank and reset my odometer so I can see what kind of mileage I'm getting!!
The first full tank with my 05 supercrew with the 5.4 got me 15.5 mpg. It has steadily improved as it gradually breaks in. I'm up to just over 2700 miles on the odo. Today I filled it up and my mileage improved to 17.6, hope it keeps improving. I ran it till the low fuel message came on. It's a thirty gallon tank and it filled up with 24.4 gallons so it had almost six gallons left in the tank.
My '04 SCab gets 14.4 to 15 mpg in D.C. commuting. Seems average for that size vehicle, but my 01 Silverado got 18 on the same route. The Chevy felt more powerful too, I just didn't feel that it was enough of a truck. I also have a 02 F-250 Powerstroke and it gets 15 on the same commute, but diesel fuel is more expensive right now and 15 quarts of oil every 5k...well the F-150 is the best compromise between comfort, economy, capability and performance IMHO.
I just checked my milage yesterday and was getting 4.71 kilometers to the liter. If my math is correct that figures out to 10.74 MPG Ouch! I do all stop and go traffic and like to whip it around but still I think thats pretty low. I have the 5.4 reg cab 4X4 with 3600 miles but was still hoping to get what you all are reporting of 14 - 16 MPG.
