Hello all, I was wondering what kind of nightmare I would be getting into by removing the current divorced 203 t-case and replacing it with a married 205 in our 76 F250. Eventually I plan to install an OD unit and I don't like the look of the rear driveshaft angle....Thanks
I've never done it. But you'll need to swap trannys with a 4wd or swap the output shaft inside the trannt from a 4wd. you'll need to make your shafts longer for the married case and get shift linkages as well.
divorced cases use a 2wd tranny with a short shasft between the tranny and case.
with a divorced case you can adjust your shaft angles.

I did this to my 77 highboy, pulled the divorced 205 and put in a bolt up 205, quadhunter is correct about the tranny stuff being different, i used a bolt up c-6/205 output shaft and adapter, and the t-case mount was a cinch.......it eliminated my original problem of drive shaft phase vibrations, but it also gave me a steep front drive shaft angle ( i have 6" lift springs up front), the drivetrain is smoother now, but i did need to put a high pinion front end in, the low pinion wasnt even close to working......i am happy with it though
dont remember, the truck is in another state with my brother (paint and body work), so i cant measure them for you......but if you have 1330 joints, you can have the original rear shortened for the new front and the original front shaft shortened for the new rear i believe.
