What is cavitation???
I have a 88 F250 7.3 and I hear about cavitation?
What is this and how bad is it, and can I stop it?

Well, cavitation erosion is an issue where tiny bubbles along the outside of the cylinder wall, created by electricity from the reciprocating motion of the piston inside the cylinder burst, taking off small pieces of the cylinder wall in the water jacket, eventually eating through to the inner wall, allowing coolant into the cylinder. Preventative measures can be taken by adding Diesel engine coolant conditioner to your coolant. This stuff also helps lube your water pump.
