5 speed tranny

I have a 1983 f150 flareside with 300i6 and 4 spd w/granny low. I know this is a tough transmission, but I am trying to get it more "highway friendly". When I am rolling at 70mph in fourth gear, my truck is whining pretty good. That seems to be as much as I can get out of her without fear of something dropping on the highway. I know she is capable of a little more speed because she pulls pretty hard. I think the tranny is holding her back a little. My question:
What is a quality 5spd tranny, that will go in fairly easily without major mods?

Thanks a lot to all responders,
Cal

The M-5 is probably the easiest to replace, you will need the cross member and hydralics from the donor truck(assuming you get this from a bone yard) next best, only next because of price will be a zf sereies for the small block, this will give you the granny first with the OD in fifth, personaly though, for the mony and because of the highway driving I would recomend a 1:3.05 or 1:3.55 rear end, if you are currently pulling a lot of revs at highway speed I would guess that you have a 1:3.73 or a 1:4.11 rear. The 3.73 should put you around 2500 rpm +- dpending on tire size and the 4.11 close to 3k, at round 60 mph. the 3.05 and 3.55 should get those numbers closer to 2k wich is a good highway number, Enough R's for power but not over doing it.
