Being that all of you have been there before. I was wondering if you might have some words of advice for the day I take delivery. My truck should be here in Michigan some time next week. What should I be aware of before I leave the dealers Lot. Besides the obvious!
I'm expecting delivery of my PSD within one week. My plan is to remain calm, remember this is a business transaction, and to save the emotion for after the drive home. We'll see how well my plan works once I see my truck!
During the inspection, I will try to keep in mind that I will have my truck for at least 10 years and that an hour spent prior to signing on the dotted line will probably save me grief down the road, literally.
I took the checklist in the above link with me. Worked great, the dealer was very patient with me. I showed no emotion. After everything was said and done and I drove off the lot I let out the biggest hoot and holler, probably lasted over a mile. Then the grin was stuck on my face for weeks.
If you ordered the all terraign upgrade, make sure you are happy with the choice Ford made on the "all terrain tires". If they gave you crappy tires which are the poorest example of an all terrain, then at that time is when you want to negotiate, not later.
Yes, this is from experience.
Also, the above post to check out the paint thoroughly for blemishes and extended test drive are definately good ideas.
Other than that, don't let out that hoot until you get around the corner.
Dealer called this afternoon, the Beast is in. Also the Truck Cap place called, Cap and Bed Rug are also in. I think this is going to be a fun filled and busy weeked. Talk with you guys on Monday. Thanks again for all the help, you guys are the Best!
