Its been sunny for a while here now, so I'm not watching too much.
I think that originals are best, Star Trek, M*A*S*H, I Love Lucy, Dukes of Hazzard, ya know series that told stories with a moral or lesson to back them up, not like todays drivvel with empty cheap laughs and nothing learned from your story time.
"LUCY Splain' why my transporter is broken and I can't beam up the wounded from the personal transportation mishap!"
I wanna see what Red Green can do when he finds out about CLEAR Duct Tape!!
I've all but given up on watching NEWS on TV, the local stations got bought out and brought in new people, now all they show is eastern based news, WELL I've got news for them - I don't live THERE!! ARGH!!
And newspapers aren't any better, all the articles are biased, I can read any article in a paper and I always think of three questions the reporter didn't ask that they should have.........no pride in their work/job/themselves, they're in it for the fame now.....
They can get ya sometimes, mine are:
MASH
Green Acres
Dukes of Hazard re-runs
Modern Marvals
Spirit of the Wild
American Birdhunter
Beretta something, usually they are bird hunting somewhere
Benelli American Safari
Huntin' with Dash and Dez
Most anything on the history channel
Mail Call
Tactical to Practical
No one has mention yet Gilagains Island with Mary Ann. (my spelling is a little off, but so am I) There's a new version coming out May 8th. I like some of the reality shows. Don't watch much of any TV until the wife comes home from work. Most of my time is here on the computer or planning my next ATV ride or designing my new deck. I have changed the design 4 times already.
Stargate Sg1 (all episodes) Atlantis (just the new ones) and Battlestar Gallactica (DVR'd first season on my PC) Plus ALias. I DVR pretty much all those shows, i'm at work when they come on. Actually Since i got the DVR software for my PC iv'e been able to watch the shows i like and ignore most other stuff
Red Green isn't a show, it's a lifestyle! I watch the Simpsons, and American Idol, because I sing a bit myself, although I get annoyed when the wrong people get voted off. I do a lot of volunteer work, and I act in community theatre, so my evenings are usually tied up w/ something better than TV.
I'm glad to hear that I am not the only sorry soul that still watches MASH...
"I WON'T carry a gun. I'll carry your books, I'll carry on. I'll carry over, carry through, carry a torch, I'll carry you on my shoulders, I'll even Cary Grant, but I WON'T carry a gun!!!"
Radar: "Colonel Potter, why do women ride a horse side-saddle?"
Colonel Potter: "Radar, would you marry a woman that didn't?"
"I WON'T carry a gun. I'll carry your books, I'll carry on. I'll carry over, carry through, carry a torch, I'll carry you on my shoulders, I'll even Cary Grant, but I WON'T carry a gun!!!"
i'm addicted too. i can sit and watch Home and GARden TV for hours if i don't force myself to turn it off
my new favorite show is deadwood. i'm not into westerns but i'm a political junkie. i'm calling it american shakespeare because it has some pretty good dialogue to keep viewers up to speed on the frontier politics. have to pay attention to follow what's going on.

Wasn't there something in there about, "...I'll even Hari-Kari, if you'll show me how..." (since this little diatribe was directed at everybody's favorite a-hole, Frank Burns.) -TD
So, which cast did your guys like better: Col. Blake/Frank Burns or Col. Potter/Charles Winchester? I myself prefered the old Frank Burns episodes even though I like 'ol Potter alot.
I'm more partial to the early M*A*S*H episodes, before they were more polished and were still experimenting with formats and characters.
Now if we could just get BJ into the early eps with Hawkeye and Trapper to see how they would gang up on Frank!!
Everytime the last episode comes on(when I'm flippin' channels) the GOODBYE sign at the end always gets me.
The best TV shows in existence are the ones that don't get bogged down in details, my example is Star Trek: The Next Generation with its half an episode of unneeded technical talk every episode!!
I liked the chemistry between Hawkeye and BJ, and how Charles was so much more worthy an adversary than Frank ever was. And Charles would show a flash of humanity once in while, to where you could almost find yourself liking him. I just got real tired of Frank's constant whining. So I guess overall, I like the newer episodes better. But Henry Blake...there was a lovable goof of a guy!
There's one episode that I've only seen once, when it originally aired. For some reason I never seem to catch it in the re-runs. It's the one where BJ grows his mustache, and Hawkeye make some comment about it looking like a greasy caterpiller on his lip, or something like that...(hey, it WAS over 20 years ago...) -TD
Well Four-Sixty..I live in northern B.C. and have access to all the shows you do, and I like alot of the same stuff you do. However if I were to catch 1/3 rd of what's on your list that would be a very lazy week for me. 2 words for you dude. GET OUTSIDE lol
We are tv poor i guess. We have a tv hooked to cable in every room of the house. But they are never on. We watch less than 6 hours of tv per week. You need to get out more and forget the fantasy of tv.
