transmission slipping

transmission slipping
when i take off and my truck goes to shift from 1st to 2nd it slips. if i keep my foot on the pedal, once it hits 25mph it feels like it goes into neutral and will just rev up until i take my foot off the pedal then put it back on. does anyone know how i can fix?? oh yea, its an 01 f-250 automatic

I had the same problem on my 01 f250 when it had 33000 on it. On mine it would not shift all from 1st to 2nd when you were on the gas. But when you took you foot off the gas it would ker bang into 3rd. The dealer told me that a "sprag" went out of the tranny. The had to take the tranny out and repair it, under warranty thank god. I think that was about a $2000 dollar deally. No problems since and I have 56000 on it.
