Nice scars. They look like that are healing nicely. Most have broken your ankle.

I can't show my scars, no wide angle lens.
Colan ruptured: 15" scar from middle of chest to groin area. Staples hurt.
6" scar for poop bag. (Can't spell the correct word) Connect and disconnect
8" scar for appendix
4" scar, opened twice for neck surgery. Plated and fused C5, C6, and C7. Replaced a disk with one from a dead body.
Scars on head and lips from splitting it open as a kid.
2 -1/4" scars. Vasectomy.

Doctors love to cut on me.

My wife and Dad say that in my first life, I was a crash-test dummy. Now, just a dummy! Ha!

Lower back. . . . 28 staples 2-1/2 lbs. of titanium inserted.
L4-5 disk removed and vertabrae repaired. I went down a flight of steps with my dog. (Why are they called a flight of steps, when you fall? No flying here!)
Disk obliterated. Vertabrae broken.
Eye bolts screwed into vertabrae and rods and nuts between vertabrae to hold everything in place. Bone shaved from hip to fuse spine.

Stomach / abdomen *add chest to this one*. . . 200+ stitches (Not a pretty sight.)
Ummmmmm. Being a stupid kid. Someone said 'duck.' I didn't.
(Most stitches internal.) Broken Sternum, 6 ribs. Bruised heart, punctured right lung. Had to have surgery to repair.
Three big scars on stomach/abdomen/chest.
Later on . . . Hernia repairs. Also appendix removed years later.

Neck . . . 3 inch slit. . glued back. 1-1/2 lbs of titanium inserted.
Broken neck. C6-7 vertabrae / C6 disk / C7 disk removed.
Titanium 'cage' inserted along with cadaver bone (ground up / putty like substance) along with titanium strap and screws to hold everything in place.
(Side note: MOST painful injury I've ever sustained. I prayed to die before surgery. Thank Heaven I didn't. I have the best neurosurgeons in the world!! Thanks Doc[s]!!)

Right knee. . . . 60 stitches Knee re-built/reassembled.
Wreck. Passenger in a car. . . 12 yrs. old at the time.

Left knee. . . . 30 stitches Tumor removed. Cartilage damage.
Bone tumor left knee at 'growth plate.' Thought it was Big C. It wasn't, Thank Heaven.

Right arm. . . knife wound . . no stitches. Witness to an attack. Recipient of stab when I tried to intervene.
I was at a party. A young lady was being attacked by her ex-boyfriend (drunk). He pulled a knife. My friend went for the girl, I went for the guy with the knife. My buddy got slashed on his upper back. (Not badly. Cut his jacket pretty badly.) I got it in the right arm, just above my elbow. Knife went in about 1". I was lucky that it didn't hit a major blood vessel. Got muscle pretty bad. I should have gone to hospital. I did say 'dummy' didn't I?
Arm hurt like 'heck' for about two months.
Guy with knife got a broken jaw. He went to hospital, then jail.
The girl and my friend got married. I got the scar.

With all of the titanium I have in me, I DO set off metal detectors!!

Nothing glamorous. Just in the wrong place at the wrong time, mostly.

That's why I don't do tattoos.

The marks I earn in life are enough, they tell a story I didn't invent.

I have a few - one almost cuts an eyelid in half. When it was over, I was walking down a road with my head busted up and someone freaked and called the rescue squad. That was how it got stitched up.

Ever since -
When it looks like I'm going to have to fight, the first thing I look for is RINGS on the opponents hand. It tells me all I need to know....

i only have 3 scars, but they are all from the same surgey.
2 that are 1 inch in length for tubes that ran out of my side for fluids in my lungs.
and a 2 ft scar, cut in the shape of a half circle on my back. I had my Right lung completely removed in April of 1985 for a cyst. So yes i only have one lung.

Those 2 scars are from the doctor repairing a broken ankle. As soon as I get some time I will scan the x-rays and post a link, really cool looking

All the other scars I have are from bar fights from my "chemical daze". All caused from alcohol and drug induced stupidity. Glad to say I have been clean and sober for over 10 years now...If I could only kick the smoking habit now

Blue oval, sounds like you had a heck of a life. I would hope that with all that has been done to you, you are in your 90's now. That is enough for a life time.

Doctor said that my whole neck should be fused, but he dosen't like doing that to someone in the early 40's. The nerve damage is so bad that it is hard to use my left arm and the right one is getting worse daily. My doctor said he won't do anymore to help and has passed me off. I don't think he wants to deal with the work comp system anymore. I know what you mean about the pain. I have trouble sleeping, showering, driving and just about any movement. My wife made be get arid of the monkey bars from above the bed. LOL. I have been off work for over a year now and am caught up in the "System". It really sucks. I have requested a second opinion, that was over three months ago. Am being told any time now. I want my arms back. It's the worst feeling in the world. I can't hold a gallon of milk.

Sorry for the hi-jack and length. Now back to the regular programming.

Tom

I got a nice one down my back, where they inserted the Harrington rods to correct my spinal cord when an accident crushed T-5 & 6, severing the cord with bone fragments. There is another on my left hip, they removed a piece of bone from my hip to fuse to my spine for attaching the rods. The top of the site on my back seems grooved wider where my insision site had opened up due to MRSA staph and the dumb nurses putting tape on the staples, pulling it off every morning changing the bandage, until one came in and told them to stop taping the staples, damage was done. You can see the rounded tops of the rods, sticks up about 1/2" at the start of my back, base of my neck.

Dern metal causes dull pain when the weather is bad, storm warning, throbs when it's cold out too, winter warning for ya. Be careful while it's healing, takes about a year to fully be fused, but I found actual stitches close in a matter of 2 days, versus those metal staples, they take longer.

I got a pretty cool one three weeks ago, wrecked my dirt bike, puncture wound in my arm. The only other one that decent is where my dog grabbed ahold and dragged, I was only three.... Don't tease dogs.

Don't worry about our FTE sister boy named Taz, he comes from a twisted world of staying off topic and threads going to pot. Speaking of that, the twisted world has been kinda slow and lonely lately.
