Bunch of freinds got together this last weekend for a shoot. We hade your basic hunting rifles, assault weapons, shotguns and pistols.
We shot at half inch thick steel plates hung on pallets at 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 yards, the plates sound like a bell when you hit them.
The best part of the day was this stuff called Tannerite, it comes in two parts and you mix it acording to instructions in a little bottle with an orange target on it.
It explodes upon impct with high power rifle. It wont explode with .22 or with fire but hit it with a 30.06 and BOOOOM!!!!
First we stuck one in an old helmet, there was nothing left.
Next we put one under an old lawn mower, looked like a gernade went off under this thing. Only thing left of mower was crankshaft.
The best one was putting it under a well pressure tank(wellxtroll), that tank took off like a rocket straight up in the sky, it was awsome.
I highly recomend this stuff to anyone that likes loud booms.
When we were younger we used to shoot at those small propane cylinders (not one of our brighter ideas). Even when they were "EMPTY" they make a pretty good boom.
Favorite 'organized' game. . . . NRA High Power, then IPSC.
My favorite shooting game. . . . (Other than organized competition.)
Clay Pigeons set up on a berm at 200 yds. Shoot with a handgun. Open sights.
Next favorite game. . . .
Set-up a deck of cards (stapled) to a piece of cardboard. Set them up randomly!!!
Best thing is have someone else (non-shooter) staple the cards to the backer board.
Do this to four or five decks of cards. Set them up at 100 yds.
"Shoot" your best 'hand'. Royal Flush, Straight Flush, 4 of a kind, etc.
.22 lr. Standing. 5 shots only!!!!
Do it again. . . . High Power Rifle. 5 shots only!
I had some fun shooting up an old computer. got frustrated in my computer hardware class and had a computer my dad wanted me to trash(had it since the mid 90's). well, i was at school and had the computer in my truck and the computers in the class started getting on our nerves so we took the one i had out to an open field with a couple of my buddies rifles. a few minutes after putting several holes in the casing, his neighbor comes down with some slugs and buckshots . we put a hole straight through the hard drive and cd-rom. removed them and took the rest to the dump, next day in class, we took the two drives up to the teacher and showed him what we thought of computers and his class, he was rather disgusted with seeing two huge holes through 2 pieces of computer hardware, that made my year

This is such a fun way to play poker! Here's one thing to make the game even more fun. Take a good size poster board and glue [cheap] poker chips to it, or just paint different colored circles. So you have 1 row of $1, the row below it is $5, etc. You get 6 shots total - the first shot is the amount you want to bet, then the following 5 shots are your hand. This can be real fun with a bad shooter cause they might accidentally bet $10 when they are aiming for $1!
I was at another website the other day. . .
They have a monthly (If I read it right) competition, where you shoot a particular target, either scan it and e-mail it to one of the 'referees' or take a digital photo of it, and then e-mail, for high 'score'.
I dunno what the winner gets, but, it's an idea!
Hmmmmmmmmmmm. We could do it, only the target would have to be a 'bowtie'!!!!
Yeah, a bunch of us could get together and do this. Just where am I going to find enough trucks to ....borrow... a bowtie from since I seem to live in Ford / Dodge country?

how would you keep people from cheating? sounds like fun though.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. That's the easy part. It's based on the HONOR system.
Yeah, I know. Not everyone is honorable. But, that wouldn't happen here.
Besides. . . . it's not like we'd be doin' this for money! Just braggin' rights.
As for the bowties. . . . my neighbor would be 'ticked.' We should just use pictures of bowties.
Single shot through the headlights. Closest to center 'wins'.
What do you mean, "How do you keep people from cheating?" You're all packing high powered rifles! Would YOU cheat if everyone in the competition had a loaded weapon?
