bed width vs cab width please help!

bed width vs cab width please help!
Hey guys I was wondering on these 73-79 ford truck if your behind the truck and you look down the bedsides does the cab seem to stick out a little past the bedsides? I am puttign thoes bedsides on a 80's style bed and the bed inside and everythign is the same and has same dimentions but when i look down the bedsides it seems that the cab sticks out a little fauther then the bed does. Is this just one of thoes thigns from ford or do i have problems?

PS Please let me know asap. I measured the back of the bed inside to inside (at the top and got 5 foot 5inches at the back of the bed and at the frotn of the bed its the same width.) Am I missing something or doing somethign wrong? Please let me know.

Can someone measure the width of their bed from insdie to inside also and let me know how wide there beds are? I am measureing from top front corner to top front corner. (where the skins come ontop and lap the front of the bed at the top from the one side to the otherside do you guys get what i mean? Please let me know. I got the bedsides to look even withthe cab but once i did that now I am a inch wider in the front of the bed then i am in the back. Please let me know what you guys sugest.

PS When this truck is done I will have a tanue cover on it so I would liek my bed to look alright so when i get the tanue cover it dont look weird on it.

The bed is 5'5'' at the front and 5'5'' at the back, inside of bedrail to inside of bedrail. On my 77 the bed and cab are even on one side and the cab sticks out about an inch further on the other side. My 79 the bed is centered but the cab sticks out about half an inch on either side if i remember right.

Well I gues my bed isn't as messed up as Ithaught. I have the bed rails at front and back 5'5. The bed is in a little on both sides of the cab. I gues I will eld the bedsides into place right there where there at because i know the width is correct now.

PS As soon as I get the bed sides welded in then i can get the rest of the bodywork done then get the truck painted then i can drive it
