Gear ratio: Is there a difference here???
The exact gear ratio in my Dana 44 front axle is 4.09:1. Now I'm looking for a rear axle with the same gears, because I don't have enough money to buy new gearsets. 4.10 was quite common, but did the factory just round of 4.09, and stamp 4.10 on the tag??? Or is there a genuine difference between 4.09 and 4.10??????

There is a small difference between the front to the rear axles' ratios. For instance my '90 F150 has 3.55/3.54 (rear/front) ratios. I think the front is supposed to turn a little faster so it handles better in the snow/mud. ...Terry
