Help- Lost tranny...maybe swap?
I have a 1989 ford f150 302 with an automatic trans. Lately Overdrive has been slipping. Then, all of a sudden, I lost overdrive and 3rd gear would slip. I changed the filter and fluid but it didn't help. Is it shot? Would a 1986 Inline 6 tranny fit in a 1989 302? Would the sensors still work? This is a daily driver and a former farm truck. Need help fast.

If it's slipping, it is probably shot. In 1989, you probably had an AOD, which is not an electronic tranny. It definately was not electronic in 1986, so they will swap over. The bellhousings are compatible. It should work fine.
