Auto Spring directions are POOR!
2; Support lower A arm with jack. 3; Remove the 3 nuts from the top of the strut. 4; remove sway bar nut from below A arm. 5; remove ball joint nuts. (I had to remove the lower ball joint on the passenger side for re-installation of the strut, Driver side went in with lower ball joint connected) if the nut is removed and you need to seperate it, your only a hammer tap away. other wise you only need to reinstall the nut after completion. 6; Loosen and remove the lower strut attach bolt. it's tight! 7; tap loose upper ball joint. (hold on to the brake roter! 30 pounds will rotate on you. watch out for your brake lines!!!! They will get streached a bit. Push up on the upper A arm. 8; lower the jack and remove the strut tower from your truck. 9; Attach the new spacer. it will only go on one way, you need to start all 3 nuts at the same time. 25 Ft Lbs torque. (Good-n-Tight with the 5/8 wrench). 10; reinstall the strut tower in your truck, (Remove the lower ball joint if needed?) It will only go up and in one way so watch the 3 bolts for proper alignment. Tighten the 3 nuts on top. 11; install the lower strut bolt and tighten to 255 Ft Lbs. (no wimps, this Torque is critical). 12; Jack up on the lower A arm, watch the sway bar! make sure it goes in it's hole. 13; lower the upper A arm and attach ball joint nut. tighten lower ball joint if needed. 14; tighten sway arm nut. 15; install wheel. You will need to have the front end aligned!!!!!
The tires will be toed in. I drove our truck 20 miles to the alignment center, there was visable ware on the outside edge. I followed the auto spring directions on the passenger side, just over 1 hour to complete. Trashed those directions and did whats written above, 20 min start to finish. Some pictures are in my gallery under "Wifes" truck.
