>On December 31 2004 I purchased a Ford Buyback 2003 F-350 King Ranch 4X4 6.0 diesel super crew. It had 10,098 miles on it. It was my dream truck, and at the price they were selling it at, I could not pass it up. I already had a new truck ( 2003 f150 5.4 super crew Lariat FX4).
After finding this website, I was HORRIFIED at the amount of negative things that were written about the 6.0. I also found that the advice was so very sound and that most people were very supportive of one another. I learned a TON from this site. Any Ford truck owner not looking thru this site is just plain missing out on the best info on the net, hands down.
I went on a hunting trip to Aledo Texas from Jersey Georgia. I averaged 20.3 by lie-o-meter, 19.8 actual by hand calc, driving 70mph all the way. I’m a disabled Vet, so the seat warmers on my old back was soooooooooo nice. On the way home, I did a little above the speed limit ( 80 ) and got 17.5 by hand calc.
The performance of this truck was flawless, comfortable, power to spare and phenomenal roll on acceleration from 70 mph. In short, I so love my truck. I am convinced that power source at every tank fill up is the best thing……Learned that here. My baby now has 18,800 miles on it, I have Rotella synthetic in it and I couldn’t be happier. GET A 6.0 Diesel now! They are in every way superior to every other truck
