When you cut out the wheel wells what are your plans for tieing the inner wheel tub with the outer skin?

MBBFord,

The "15" in the product name "POR-15" is the 15th formula and the one that worked the best as a rust neutralizer. Evidently the first 14 versions and POR-16 weren't nearly as effective . Hence the name. It is NOT a sealer. It chemically alters iron oxide (rust)to neutralize it and thereby inhibit the formation of more. Once applied and dried, POR-15 can be painted or sealed over for maximum effectiveness. You can check the website... www.por-15.com for additional info.

AJwatson,

That is good information about the Durabak since i have a gallon of dark blue sitting here to do the very same thing to my Bronco. I don't need to do the tailgate as its already been Rhino-lined inside and out so by your info, 1 gallon should cover the floor (currently carpeted) area just fine? Should I get an additional pint just to be safe? I am planning on putting the same color on the floor of the laundry room in the basement eventually but not sure I am ready to go out and buy another four gallons of it right now.

Grog,

I haven't got that far... I would assume (I know dangerous) that when I put the flares on the fenders that I can bolt the inner tub to the outter skin at that point - either bolted in or wired in somehow... honestly - it may come out all together and the whole area may just get a little surface protection - por-15/durabak...

I may not flare it at all - it may not be as bad as it looks.

I am thinking that it will have to be flared unless I am go with a lift kit - the goal is to squeeze some 33" tires in there. Right now it's got the lame little stock tires on it. Looks ridiculous. Giant powerful 4x4 with little bitty donuts on it. Needs some meat down there...

31" x 10.5" on a 7" rim look beefy with a small rub at full lock. Adjust the turn stops or just straighten up the tires to stop the rub

I've been talking with a guy from linex maybe I'll consider it some more. How much sound proofing does it provide? my ride is like the inside of a tin can.

I will sound like a hollow vehicle after you line it, It doesn't really soundproof well at alll. I was going to do the same thing to my 78' Bronco. A friend of mine did it to a jeep and it works great, you can just hose it out, and it doesn't look entirely terrible. With the Bronco you should be careful around the Top mount area, you don't want to get any of that stuff on there or it won't seal well.

Just be sure that if you do it yourself you TAPE OFF WELL.

Once it gets somewhere that you dont want it to be it can quickly become a mess!

Good luck, have fun!

your 31's rub? I had 33's and now have 32's and have never had a problem with rubbing. I have not thought about lining the back before, but I darn sure am thinking about it now. I did line the bed of an F100 with the stuff at Walmart and liked the way it turned out.

I'd love to see photos of a completely "lined" Bronco.
