Hi, I have a 76 F-150 4x4. About a month ago the driver front tire started jumping off of the ground if I went over 50 mph, and has since gotten worse and started doing it at lower speeds. I've replaced shocks, stabilizer shock, wheel bearings, and had the wheels rebalanced. Can anyone here help me out and think of something else it could be. Any help would be appreciated.
i've run two sets of tires and wheels and still have the same problems, the first set was some little 15's, then I went up to the 31's on 16's that are on it now
is your front hub engaged. is it unlocked but still turns the front axle shaft. to check this, lift up the front end on that side with a jack and turn the tire and look to notice if the u-joint is turning or not.
it looks like it might be the ball joints, the tie rods are in good shape, and no, the hub is not engaged. The ball joints are worn, but they really dont look bad enough to cause this.
