Hey guys, this question doesnt quite apply to ford trucks...but ive always been able to get good mechanical advice on here so i thought id throw this problem out. its a 93 olds and the heater fan is always running...even when you have it turned to off and also if the key is out of the ignition. it totally wasted the old battery... it wont even hold a charge anymore, but i want to fix it before putting the new one in (duh). anyone out there know what the problem is and if it can be easily fixed?
Look on top of the heater case (along the firewall a little right of center in the engine compartment) and you should find a power module which controls fan speeds. Some have one connector some have two. Unplug that unit, fan will stop running if you have found the right part. Buy that part. Has three screws holding it in heaterbox. 7mm head. Is about 4" long and 2" wide and has about 4" of cooling fins down insde box.
