Battery Light

I have a 91 7.3 diesel. The battery light flickers constantly. I have a good alternator, tightenend the belts and the batteries are good. Sometimes while driving on the interstate the light will go out but if I let off the throttle it will flicker and it will do the opposite (stay off at idle and flicker while driving)
I also noticed the other day sparking at the stater connection. I tightned the connections but the sparking was still there. What gives? Need your help.

Are you sure? I think I would try another.

Sparking at the starter connection indicates a poor connection. Simply tightening it is not enough. Take it apart, clean it by wire brushing or using a green scrub pad, grease it good with dielectric grease, reassemble. First make sure it is not sparking out of the connector body. That would indicate a bad connection between the wire and the connector. For that you would have to replace the cable.
