"Over Drive" button?

O/D light location
When you turn on the truck.......look at the dash just in case to see if you have a bad bulb in there. All of the bulbs go through a self test at startup. Some of them stay on if you just put the key in the on position. In this position you can toggle your O/D button and should be able to see the light go on and off. On my tuck the light is located on the extreme left side side next to the battery guage and it says "O/D OFF". Also your RPM's will be ALOT higher at highway speed. Not to mention the fact that the motor will be screaming for relief. Hope that this helps you.

On my XLT, when you turn off the overdive, it says it is off in the righthand side of the message center next to the odometer readout. I kick it off when I am coming down the hill from my house to keep the truck from running up to 60 mph in a 35. The cops around here just love that hill.
