idle problem

In reply to your replys on my previous post. I changed the throttle position sensor on my 91 f150 it seemed to help somewhat , but the engine still wants to idle around 1150 rpm and sometimes takes a few seconds to come back down to idleAfter pressing the gas pedal. i have cleaned the throttle body, and changed the air bypass valve, and it still does the same thing,to remedy the problem i just disconnected the idle air bypass valve,i decided i would rather have to open the butterflies with the acclerator to start it rather than put up with the high idle. what i need to know is what other components relay messages to your computer tha effect what the Idle air bypass valve does, because the idle air bypass valve does not seem to be the problem

I’m starting to feel like a broken record……. You may have already done this but if not you need to reset your computer on your truck anytime you replace a component. The easiest way to do this is to disconnect your battery for a few minutes.

Good luck!
