since i cant seem to be able find a cold air intake sysstem for my 94 could i just take my air box off and just mount a air cone to the end and make my own heat shirld?do they swell brackets for this appilcation?

 

I have heard you can get a mounting bracket at some parts stores, maybe someone who has done this will provide more information.

 

yes you can take the air box off and put a filter on it, i did it to my 93 ranger. go to www.ifab.net for a filter and MAF adapter.

 

I put a cone on mine, they don't make cold air intakes for some odd reason, actually, i emailed a company about it and they said something about how the placement would not be beneficial to power growth or something like that, basically, it would be ineffective is what they said. This summer i am going to make an intake tube to place on the other side of the MAF, funny how i seem to be following your threads and you seem to be doing a lot of what i will be doing this summer, lol.

 

Your rig comes from the factory with a "cold air intake", whats wrong with it????
