Painless just came out with a pre-made wiring harness for our trucks. Has anybody used it yet? Finally somebody is making something cool for a Ford instead of everything for cheveys
Even though I haven't seen this yet, I hope it's true for those who haven't done this yet. My 18 circuit universal Painless was anything but (painless) as it was all GM coded. But it's great to have all new wiring- though I may regret hiding the fuse block so high under dash someday.
I also would like to hear from someone who has gotten this and what they thnk about it.
I am just a little drawn off from the full kit with the switches because they want about $200 more for the kit with the Headlight, ignition & wiper switches..
I went ahead and ordered one with the switches. The funny thing is its already backordered, don't know when I'll get it. Its a lot of money but at this point I've got a lot in the engine and body so it seemed like a shame to put that old wire harness back on it.
Are these kits available with extra circuits? I'm installing p/w, p/l, air compressor for suspension, built in laptop, and sound system. By what it said on there website I think I still have to go with one of their other kits.Eric
Just a thought but seen as how they are backorder and they make them thereself, maybe calling them could get you a custom one with the 18 circuit fuse block????????? It might be worth a shot.
It shipped today, that only took about a week. The original fuse block only had 5 fuses, 14 will be plenty for me. I'm only adding A/C, a better sound system, electric door locks and power windows to what was originally there.
Re-wiring will be a project eventually for my truck.. so I'll be watching this thread. I'm glad to see someone finally came out with a true wiring harness for the truck. My wiring is so brittle and old it will be nice to put in fresh new stuff. I'm guessing it's at least a weekend job to complete?
