where does the wire for the choke on the 1 bbl carb come from, because the wire is unhooked and i cant find it anywhere. I'm think someone might have cut the plug off or cut the entire wire out of the system and it gets rather annoyin holdin the gas just s bit till she runs right.
The electric choke wire goes to the alternator stator terminal. The stator terminal produces voltage only when the engine is running. By connecting the choke wire to the stator terminal, the choke should start to open only after the engine is running.
What FFF said. Should be a White wire with a black stripe coming off the voltage regulator. Mine (1974) comes out of the wiring harness on the fire wall just over the valve cover. I had to re-wire it myself, since someone had done and engine swap and never hooked it back up. (They also left the air cleaner off, but wound up parking the truck for 6 years right after that.)

thats the same thing with my bronco. engine swap, never connected a bunch of things, and no air cleaner, but the guy drove it like this for a year or so. I think i've seen that white wire to it was cut
