cv boot

I have a 98 F-150 4x4 my cv boot is making a whining noise it sounds like something rubbing the tire.Is there something I can put on it to stop the noise. It makes my truck sound like a piece of junk.

Cv boots are pretty quite. What is inside can be a problem. Try to isolate it further. Check the brakes as they tend to squeal.

I just put brakes and rotors on last year thats what scared me,so I pulled the wheel to look and they were fine.When I spun the wheel I could tell it was the boot.

Hmm. Can't hurt to clean them and apply some armour all. that should make them as slippery as cat **** on a linoleum floor.
