D8OE/E5AE heads

Got a set of factory heads from the autoparts store. When I was moving them I noticed a tag on each. One says D8OE, one says E5AE. Are they the same, or, do I need to swap one?
Thanks,
Munrow

No they are'nt the same! Different years and most likely different combustion chamber size.

Thanks for the info. Took them both back to trade in on a rebuilt engine if I can't find a short-block locally.
BTW, what's the difference, and, which would be better?
Thanks,
Munrow

Sounds like the D8OE would be the better head to do some work on?
