I believe they are late 70's 302 heads. Big chambers, like 69cc big. Real low compression heads, 8.9 or lower with dished pistons. Valves are 1.8/1.5 or so. Small ports and smog humps. I'd stick with E7's over using these unless you don't have any heads. In which case they aren't terribly bad for a daily driver. The valves are small, and chambers are large, so a rather large lift cam could clear with these.
E7's? Roughly the same size valves. Better flow characteristics (D8OE was a smog era head), better chamber, better quench. Smaller too, better cp ratio. Not "worlds better", but an improvement.
Thats an 85 model truck head, 67.5cc. A tad better than the D8, maybe. I think Ford kept using that head for a year or two, but raised the cp, the cc went to like 61cc, in 87 I think. If you are rebuilding a head, you could just buy a decent aftermarket for a buck or two more and be way more impressed. Or you could find some running E7's for dirt cheap and be done with it.
I am going to run the D8's for a while. I noticed a huge bump in the exhaust port of these heads. Will I risk hurting anything if I grind those out myself??
No, it won't hurt to grind the bump off. Break the corners of the machined-in pockets just below the valve. Don't take much material off, just knock the top of the edges off, easy does it. The goal is as gradual a bend as you can make it.

Exactly.
And ditch those smog humps! It'll take a little time to get the floor smooth, though.

No, if there is a hole in it it goes to your smog ports in the rear of the head. they are in the roof, I just referred to the area as the floor cause I am looking down on it as I grind.
