Help! I have a 1932 Ford Model B Pickup 4 cyl, I am having trouble finding parts for the B. If anyone knows of any catalogs or websites please let me know. Thanks.
What parts? these places are all online - type name into any search engine.
Mac's Antique Auto parts - Lockport NY
Mack Products - Moberly, MO
Sacramento Vintage Ford - Stockton, CA
Red's Headers - Fort Bragg, CA
Depending on what you need, you might try Snyders Antique auto in Ohio. They're basically model T & A but they might have some supplies and/or great contacts for the 32 B. I doubt Henry changed everything that year. They're also online.
Hello,
I fool with later flatheads,1948-53 but I have always had an interest in Model A,B,C, and V8 Fords. Here's some data you find intersting. Model A 1928-31 4cyl. Model AR early 28 with some T parts. Model B 1932 with a slightly improved 4cyl. Model Bs were offered with 4cyl engines only. The V8 equipped car or truck was called simply the V8. Model Cs were the 33 and 34 models with 4cylinders. The Model C was the preferred Hot Rod engine until the V8s took over in the late 30s. Rod and Custom magizine ran a series on the A-C 4 bangers 3 or 4 years ago called Banger Build Up. Also 2N,9N and 8N Ford Tractors are real close kin to the A-C engine. A shop that can service the fairly common 8N can probably build a model B engine easily.
Thanks for the information. I have been able to find a piece here and a piece there. I am looking for the exhaust pipe (engine to muffler), the air filter, and the cable that runs from the dash to the carb, it's a high speed adjusting cable. I'm not sure of the proper term for that piece.
Thanks again to everyone!!
I have built many of the Model A and up 4 cylinders and many of the parts are interchangeable. The exhaust system on the Model A is a one piece unit from the exhaust manifold that has the head pipe, muffler, and tail pipe if you can’t find the Model B part and you don’t care if it is original you could probably make the Model A part work. For stock early Ford parts try Batton's Antique Auto Parts at http://www.brattons.com/ and Gaslight Auto at http://www.gaslightauto.com/ both offer free catalogs. Also most good muffler shops should also be able to bend up a new head pipe for you. For more power there are also tube type headers and you could then run a turbo muffler or a glass pack. The mixture adjusting rod for the carb from the model A should also work I run a B carb and distributor on my A motor. I have also used the air cleaner kit from Bratton’s on it.
