Bad Injector Pump?

Tryin to figure out if my Injector Pump is bad... I didnt have any fuel comin out of the shrader valve on the fuel filter of my 89 250 7.43 Diesel so i changed the lift pump and then started getting fuel out of the filter. truck still wont start though. i took off the IP fuel return check valve and when cranking just have a little fuel coming out. theres plenty of fuel coming into the pump but not coming out of the check valve. Need the truck runnin soon so any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks
Tom C.

If you have fuel coming out of the shrader valve while cranking the engine and feeding the injection pump - good.
did you have the key on while checking the fuel at the injection pump or at one of the nozzles? Maybe a fuse is blown in the fuse box or if you tried to jump the batteries and made a parallel system, you burned out the on/off solenoid in the pump - meaning ... it wont turn on the fuel.
I've seen it happen before. Hope this helps you out.
Dont forget ---- DONT OVERHEAT THE STARTER.

when i check the fuel at the injector pump i was cranking the engine for a start with the check valve removed and watching for fuel to come out. when you say a fuse blown do you mean the starter motor relay b/c i couldnt find any fuses in the fuse box that would relate to it.
thanks for the info.
