I have a 1999 F-150 4x4 supercab the tires on the front are wearing on the inside unevenly driver and passenger side also. It shakes a little while driving at 70mph, tires are ok. What causes this uneven wear can it be stoped maybe with a alinement or new shocks ?
couple of things 2 look at here...the easiest thing 2 check and fix is tire pressure. Under-inflation and over-inflation can cause your tires 2 do some pretty screwy things.
Another thing is either incorrect toe-in or extreme camber.
Checking each of these isn't difficult but making the necessary adjustmets should be left to a reputable wheel alignment shop.
Besides the good advice that Mean Jean had you should also have the ball joints and tie rod ends checked for wear.
A good alignment shop will check the front end for wear before they try to align it.
If you have many miles on it don't be surprised if it needs some front end work.
