I recently purchased a 1989 f-150 supercab 4x4 w/ 5.8l EFI, c6 tranny. This truck sat for about 1 year in a garage. I replaced the plugs, oil and filter, air filter, battery, coolant. What else would you reccomend? The truck has dual exhaust but you wouldn't know it from the sound. I want a deep rumble , loud enough to sound like a 351W truck should but I dont want to blow the neighbors away. Eventually, I'll want enough lift to run 33's or maybe 35's, and I want to gain some horses and improve the mpg's if all this is possible. What suggestions?

If you want more sound, put on a couple 2 chamber 40 series flowmaster mufflers. If your city doesn't do emiss tests, you can chop the catalytic converter off and make the flowmasters really sound good.
You could also change the Trans fluid and your fluid in your Differentials. Check your serpentine belt and all your hoses. Distriibutor. Plug wires. You could also drain the feul and change the feul filter like popa tim said. Also run a few bottles of feul injector cleaner through there.
When you lift the truck you can also change out all the bushings.
