has any one tried the fuel inj. kits that snap on to the fuel line? and then you cut off the fuel pump, let the truck run off of this aresol can till it is empty?
I did this a couple times on my 1990 F150 351w. worked like a charm. This is actually the same thing that ford does when they charge you 250-300 dollars to clean your injectors. It woke mine up a lot.
If you don't mind doing the labor yourself, I have had very good luck with pulling the injectors off and sending them to RC Engineering or a local diesel place where they blueprint and flow-balance all 8 injectors for $25 each. They usually have two day turnaround.
Basically, when they are done the injectors are BETTER than brand new. (new ones aren't flow balanced).
If not, I also have had good luck with running the tank as low as I feel comfortable then putting in two cans of Seafoam Carbon Cleaner in the tank. Then drive the truck till she runs out of gas (carry a gallon with you). She will smoke and not run real good until you dilute the carbon cleaner, but it really helps if you have really bad injectors.

I borrowed the kit from a friend of mine that worked at the ford house. I bought the cleaner from Ford actually. it was a product by 3M I don't remember the actual name of it though. You might try a place like Autozone. they often loan tools out for free use when you buy a product requireing a special tool. Hopefully this helps.
I looked into doing this not too long ago myself. Bought the can of cleaner, and "thought" i had the right hose for the job at the house. I purchased a fuel pressure tester a year ago. But the hose wouldn't fit the can. The guy at the local parts house told me that the correct hose would cost me somewhere in the area of $70 - $75.
I then took it to a shop, and had the same thing done for $95. I think I might end up buying the hose anyway.
