With plug wires it's usually just best to replace them with the BEST wires you can find. They usually last for about 2 years. Ignition parts are one place I go overboard. I will pay $200 in parts just for an ignition tune-up becuase it is the biggest factor in the vehicle running or not running. I WILL NOT buy plug wires for a ford at auto zone. Get napa's or carquest's most expensive. They are the closest to dealer parts you will find.

I totally agree with you but I just picked up this 67 Fairlane GT and the plug wires are autolite. They appear fairly descent too look at. I am going to buy a good high dollar set when I rebuild the engine but for now I am just feeling the car out and would like to just find out how it runs...
