86 f250 help needed

First off excellent site you guys have here.

I just baught an 86 f250 primarily to be used as a work truck. I have a couple things that need to be fixed and i am not sure where to start. First, the steering is kind of loose and I was wondering if there is anyway to tighten this up. Second I am pretty sure the guy I baught it from put over sized tires on the truck because they are pretty wide. How do I figure out what a more appropriate size would be? Also, I have read that the solid front end in this truck has issues with tire wear and vibration. I definately have vibration at higher speeds what is done to correct this? Lastly, I looked in a few magazines to find a place that sold parts for this truck and did not really find a place that had everything. Do you guys have a site that stocks reasonably priced parts for this truck. thanks for any help in advance.

the stock tires would be 235/85/16s on 16" x 6.5" rims

as far as the steering , it could be a worn steering shaft, coupler, box, tierods, axle pivots, radius arm bushings (2wd) balljoints.

Steering boxes are a weak point, but the other things mentioned above need to be checked also. Yes, you can tighten the steering box the loosen nut on top of box' tighten the screw in middle, besure not to over tighten after ajustment get in truck start it, crank the wheel to lock making sure it returns by itself.
Your second question. I have an 86 F250 4x4 stock tire size is 235x85x16. There should be a sticker on the door that shows stock size.

thanks for the help.....ill try that.....my main reason for asking tire and rim size is this, the previous owner put really wide tires on the truck and they stick out like 4 inchens on the side of the truck....in my opinion a little too wide for both looks and practicality. i am trying to get an idea of a replacement size for new rims and tires that will both look good and be practical. any ideas? what have some of you guys used? the truck is heavy duty i dont know too much about them but the rear is huge and the truck looks lifted but its stock so i am assuming it is a superdudy. thanks guys
