Delay Wipers Question

I tried searching for this subject but it kept coming up as an error. I know this has been talked about here, but I couldn't find it. Here is my issue, I have an 82 Ford F100 that came with just the two speed wipers. I have a 91 Ford parts truck that has the delay wipers. I pulled the switch assembly out of both and switched in the the delay switch. I only have high speed but the wipers are actually going slow. Is there another piece that I missed or could it be a bad switch? Thanks

yes, you also have to include the delay relay too.

If you follow the harness back from where the switch plugs in, in your parts truck, there will be a black box in the harness. It's required(it's the delay relay box) to make the delay feature work.

Make sure you have the black box from your parts truck, that is the delay. There is also a extra ground wire that has to be connected from the switch. If you do you have a bad delay setup, you can pick one off of ebay cheaper than the dealer.

I also had the same problem on my 84 F250 and it ended up being the ground wire on the relay that was loose. Fixed that up and everything was fine.
