I have replaced the sending unit but still my gas guage doesn't work. I am having a heck of a time tracking the wires through the truck to the dash. I know that is the problem.
I want to find a guage system I can mount somewhere so I can at least know what my feeble tank is holding. Is there any outfit out there that supplies aftermarket guages and/or sending units? I am building a box mounted tank as well but would rather have a guage and sending unit type over a float or sight tube.
Any one have any ideas?

your local parts store will have an after market guage and sending unit that you can put in it. Prices vary but you should be able to get the whole set up for under $100. Auto meter also has a good selection of guages especially if you want to change all of your guages. you can get a set of 5 guages (speedo, water temp, oil pressure, amp/volt and fuel) for about $400. add obout $200 for a tac from them if you want to mount it in the dash.
