running glitch

I was on my way back from a 50 mile highway trip when my truck seemed to lose a noticible bit of power. i could still run down the road at 65-70 ok ,just seemed to bog a little. after i got back i checked the horses(hairy ones ,not ones under hood!) then headed home. on the way back it gave a bit of a surge and seemed to run back to its normal self after that. the odd thing i noticed was the oil pressure guage read higher after it surged(about 30% by what the guage says). I am wondering if there could be an electrical circuit that would cause the problem with losing power and having the oil guage read low.the guage is not acurate,i am sure the motor is fine .

Check all the wires on the engine harness for wearing and possible shorting out/broken wires. Make a special check of the fuel shutoff solenoid wire to the IP. If the power is removed from the FSS then many IPs will still pull enough fuel through to run but with less power. Did the filter light come on per chance.....
