Hey guys, I just threw a set of long tube headers on my 89 150 302 5spd, and what a difference! I can't believe the power difference throughout the entire rpm range. Took me forever to build up rpms in 3rd and up, now its pretty quick. And I can definitely feel the power off the line too. Just thought I would let you all know.

Great to hear!!! I've got an 89 F150/4wd/302/auto that I want to put long tubes on but haven't been able to find anyone to say which ones will fit. Which ones did you get? Where? Do they fit or was the install a PITA?
The current exhaust may fall off by the end of the week I like the extra torque of the LTs and it's much easier to fab up the rest of the exhaust (less bends).
I have heard where if you put headers on, your wise to change your plug wires to a 90 degree boot. The extra heat will burn up wires. Just what I've heard from people who had headers on their truck.
I installed a set of Flowtech "shorty" headers and a Flowmaster "40" series muffler and I can tell there is more power + I gained about 3 more MPG.
Same here except I got a SpinTech muffler. The only clearance issues I had was between the bolts and the tubes. It was hard to get anything but an open end wrench on them. Also if you use thick gaskets you can have problems getting the y-pipe to line up. Not an issue with full length headers since you probably have to fab up everything new from there back.
Hiflyer746: How did you run your exhaust? True duel, H-pipe, down both sides or both on the same side?
