sun roof problem

sun roof problem
My wifes 92 pontiac grand puke's sun roof was working good then all of a sudeen quit. no noise no fore warning, like acting sluggish or anything...I checked the fuses, all good.. Could the motor just up and quit working with no fore warning like that?
any ideas?

However, you should be able to manual open it. (I certainly hope that it is stuck in the closed position!
) Do so and check the tracks for obstructions, gunk, lack of lube etc. Those type of motors aren't really strong and any drag over the years will cause the windings to burn out.
Motors can and will give up the ghost with no prior warning.

I know I am sorry about being a smart-rump 
I was just getting 
by the boss...
It was stuck in the open position and it was raining...I just tapped on the motor with a tack hammer and it closed up
This weekend I will take it apart and clean it up
